David W. Linzey, DVM

Veterinarian/Owner
Education: North Carolina State University

Dr. Linzey is a 1994 graduate of the North Carolina State University College of Veterinary Medicine in Raleigh, NC. Since that time, he has practiced small animal and emergency medicine in Taylorsville and Hickory, NC. Dr. Linzey and his wife, Debi, established the emergency clinic in 2005 and reside in Boone, NC. They have two daughters: Holly is a registered nurse in Denver, CO and Lindsey is a registered dietician and nutrition counselor in California.  Dr. Linzey is active in the organized veterinary medicine community and is a past-president of the North Carolina Veterinary Medical Association.  He continues to support North Carolina veterinarians by planning and coordinating continuing education conferences and works closely with the NCSU College of Veterinary Medicine with ongoing training events. Outside of work, Dr. Linzey enjoys traveling, SCUBA diving, camping, hiking, beekeeping, beer brewing and spending time with his family and three dogs, Chena, Tanka, and Sienna.

Abigail Watkins, DVM

Dr. Watkins is a graduate of Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine and her clinical year was completed at Auburn University School of Veterinary Medicine.  Her veterinary passions include soft tissue surgery, internal medicine and preventative medicine.  Outside of veterinary medicine, Dr. Watkins enjoys hiking, photography and spending time with her pets!

 
Dr. Johnson

Kathryn Johnson, DVM

Dr. Johnson joined our Team on September 6, 2018 as a part-time General Practice Veterinarian. She graduated from Virginia Tech’s veterinary college in 2011 and has since practiced as both an equine and small animal veterinarian.    In 2016, Dr. Johnson obtained certification in veterinary acupuncture which she enjoys using as an adjunct to Western medicine.  She and her husband recently moved to his family farm in Alleghany county where they reside with their horses, cows, and very spoiled dog.  In her free time, Dr. Johnson enjoys being outdoors hiking, running, spending time with the horses, and gardening. Dr. Johnson works mostly on Thursdays and Fridays as well as some relief days.
